Bombardier Delivers First Global 5500

In a press release published this morning, Bombardier confirms that it has delivered the first Global 5500. This delivery comes 25 months after the official launch of this version in Geneva in May 2018 during EBACE. The Global 5500 can travel 5,900 nm with 16 passengers and is priced at US $ 55 million.

Now that the Global 5500 has entered service, the fate of the Global 8000 remains to be resolved. The question is whether Bombardier has the cash to develop this variant. Personally, I wonder about the relevance of a biz jet that would have more than 8,000 nm of passable distance.
