The Bell 505 production has reached its cruising speed
The latest data released by the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA), show that the production rate of the Bell 505 has reached cruising speed with 32 aircraft delivered in the third quarter of 2018. The total deliveries of the 505 in 2018 is 91 aircraft. Note that in the first quarter, the Mirabel plant delivered 25 units of its new model and 34 in the second quarter. The production rate is therefore set at about 11 helicopters per month.
The Bell 505 is nearing 150 deliveries and the units in service now have more than 10,000 flying hours. For now, the entry into service of the new kid on the block is running smoothly, it remains to be seen if the compilation of operator operating data will confirm that the 505 fulfills its promises.
